I spent the last few months talking to people across the political spectrum, and to people who want nothing to do with politics at all. Here is what I learned. We are not a divided country. We are a country being divided, on purpose, by an American oligarchy that profits from the fight. They’ve captured our government, denied our healthcare, looted our treasury, and saddled us with crippling debt. I believe in a New New Deal. Healthcare as a human right. The right of every family to a decent home, and an end to endless wars. And a dividend paid to every American from the AI economy, because these machines were built on the whole of human inheritance. That inheritance belongs to all of us, and not just to the handful of men playing God with our very existence. And none of it happens if we just move on. Donald Trump, his family, and his administration are robbing us blind, not just of our money, but of our faith in one another, and they have to answer for it. Truth and reconciliation, not revenge. Then we break the system that let them do it. The question is not whether we will lose our democracy. The question is whether we will fight to take back what has already been stolen. I learned in recovery that you can’t heal what you won’t name. Neither can a country.

I have never said this before because I despise the man, but I remember Andrew Tate from London’s nightlife. This photo reminded me. I ruled over those scenes, north, south, east, central and west, going to anything happening to find interesting people to bring to my own clubs. Tate was a regular on the tackier end of it all. He would turn up topless, sit in the corner and say hi, never once having a problem with someone like me. Had no problem with the Trans girlies and the gays. When he became famous for his far right clickbait antics, my first thought was that this was the guy who used to nod at me kindly across a club. There are photographs of him from those nights and I suspect some more of them will surface one day. Back then nobody had problems with anyone however the club scene was misogynistic and a playground for sex pests, I fended off many of them over the years for both myself and my friends. We all said hi and got on with the night… it was very ego driven, a hierarchy of who had the best tables and usually that was me. I still wonder what happened to him. Maybe he believed this stuff all along. Maybe years of hedonism curdled into something else. My own suspicion is that he realised he could clickbait the hell out of young men and old fools into paying him or being paid well by ads, then sold himself to himself and started believing the hype.. I’m glad the ba ll sac has been arrested and will face the charges. It’s so much worse than I thought.

The food system revolution is just beginning.

More than anyone, I remain very disappointed with Merrick Garland, who I served with on a American Bar Association Committee back in mid-1990s, for not publicly speaking out now, especially to defend his fired former employees (many I now represent). He is better than this.
