@theficouple Yup, wife and I are 34 with $2.1M NW and after years of aggressive investing and frugality, we're buying a nice lake house and diversifying our portfolio. Decided we were at an inflection point in age and net worth where there was diminishing returns on continued frugality.

@BalesBets Sure it's 70% middle aged moms but Orange Theory's model did this for me. When I'm charged if I dont show up, it doesn't require any disapline. Now I sign up for a marathon every year and again, doesn't require much disapline to train for it since I can't/won't back out.

@zodchiii @BalesBets I’d also consider expected utility because it factors in your nature, specifically the cost of stress and the value of peace of mind. Like you touch on with Kelly Criterion, it's doing this with monetary decisions since it naturally scales for personal risk tolerance.
