Maybe my favorite chart this month. You're looking at the highest reading on record in 1,841 weekly stock market sentiment observations from 1990 to 2025. The inputs: the VIX volatility index + AAII survey bearish respondents + Investors Intelligence survey respondents who expect a correction. In 10 of the last 11 fear spikes, the S&P 500 went on to gains over the next 52 weeks. Returns were often large too (+31.0%, +21.0%, and so on).

The NYSE up volume on Wednesday was 71 times higher than down volume. Using data that goes back to 1990 that's a record high. There was no such high volume in 2008. There's no guarantee the market made its final low but based on that the odds of a 2008 scenario are slim to none.

$sx.ca $sxoof should probably be on trade watch lists again. Took forever but final ECA approvals granted and multi chem battery recycling lines becoming operational. Many years R&D -> operational producer. Up against long technical resistance in uptrend.
