I approached an amputee in an electric wheelchair, who was asking drivers in the drive-thru for assistance, so that he could eat. I invited him inside for a meal and he told me that he was unwelcome in his mother's home so he slept "here, there and everywhere!" 1/4

Throughout the years of providing outreach, I have been given a multitude of nicknames, including "St. Peter", "crazy", "muffin man" and "mysterious." My favorite name was provided two years ago, by a vulnerable lady, on a blustery winter morning. 1/2

After providing food for a lady, she said that for my kindness, I am a 10 out of 10! When I asked her to rate my friendliness and service, she laughed and said "like I said, your kindness is top notch, but the rest is a work in progress."

As the hostess handed me the last order, I looked at her & said “You are too kind & I appreciate you making my guests feel welcome” As I walked away from the counter, she suddenly stopped and yelled “Hey, you are too kind & thank you for making these people feel important!” 2/2

As I approached the restaurant, I invited a group of vulnerable people to join me for breakfast. The lady who took their order was friendly, patient and helpful, even when the patrons kept changing their order. 1/2

As I approached a vulnerable man in front of a coffee shop, I noticed that he was not wearing any shoes. I reached into my car trunk and asked him to try on my brand new jogging shoes. He sat on the ground, placed them on his feet, tied them and smiled. 1/2

I eventually discovered that he had lost his life while trying to survive during the harsh winter months. In his honor, I am motivated to serve those in need. If they object, I have learned to not "take no for an answer!" 3/3

I explained to him that a few years ago, I provided consistent outreach to a homeless young man, who was at first, reluctant to accept my help. Despite my best efforts, I lost contact with him and I could no longer find him. 2/3

As I tried to assist a vulnerable Londoner, he finally accepted and said “do you ever take no for an answer?” I told him that he was correct in that I am sometimes stubborn and difficult, but that I had a reason to do so. 1/3
