#LetsTalkMaternalMentalHealth Many people believe that mental disorders tend to improve during pregnancy but in actual fact some disorders have a relapse rate of up to 50-70% in the postnatal period especially if they do not receive treatment.
#LetsTalkMaternalMentalHealth People believe that pregnancy is a period of well-being and it protects the women from psychological unease, but in reality 20% of women have a psychiatric disorder in pregnancy or in postnatal period.

Some of the measures to curb GBV as pointed out by parents include marriage tolerance, communication, transparency and promoting sound policies that protects victims of GBV. #LETStalkMentalHealth#LETStalkMentalHealth#SPANS#SAY NO TO GBV.
The effects of GBV on mental health can not be left unsaid as it is greatly contributing to distress and depression hence contributing to large numbers of suicides.
Gender Based Violence.. Some of the causes of GBV which were pointed out by female parents included infidelity and economic hardships especially as a result of Covid-19, lack of communication among family members, drug abuse and immaturity.
