A big update focused on fixing bugs, app reliability and a much more powerful image gallery. 🚀 App startup — smarter, more resilient • Now tells .NET Framework issues apart from antivirus blocking — no more confusing "missing .NET" errors when it's actually your AV • Detects known antivirus/EDR software (Bitdefender, Microsoft Defender, Avast & more) and names the likely culprit • Auto-unblocks internal files flagged by Windows as "downloaded from the internet" — a common silent killer of app startup • Detects when the backend starts but can't be reached locally, and flags a firewall/AV network inspection issue • More resilient single-instance lock — tolerates antivirus scans or sync tools briefly locking the file • Startup error messages now available in 15+ languages, with a direct link to fix .NET when needed 🖼️ Image gallery — completely leveled up • New grid view with real thumbnails (remembers your preference) • Sort by actual capture date (EXIF), with smart fallback • Manually fix capture dates for cameras with a wrong clock • Tags now visible right in the file list — no need to open each photo • Folders show photo counts at a glance • New duplicate finder — detects duplicates by content, not just filename • Side-by-side image comparison • Move/copy images to another folder straight from the viewer • Save rotation, mark favorites, and a keyboard shortcuts panel — all inside the viewer • Smarter tag search: search multiple tags at once, match-all or match-any • Fixed a bug where the map showed gray/unstyled on fresh installs 🔧 Performance & stability • Fixed "database is locked" errors under concurrent tag access • Background tag reconciliation on startup — rename or move a photo outside the app, and its tags/geolocation/people are automatically re-linked instead of lost 100% offline. 100% yours. There’s another use for Offlined we’ve been thinking about a lot: children’s first step into digital knowledge. It’s still in beta, and there’s a lot of work ahead. But we can already imagine it as a safe space for kids to explore and learn before they have unrestricted access to the internet. Not taking knowledge away from them, quite the opposite. Wikipedia.
