Since the political system change, the validity of the President’s individual pardon decisions requires the countersignature of the Minister of Justice. I have continued the practice of more than 25 years, whereby the Minister of Justice acknowledges the President’s pardon decision. I take political responsibility for the countersignature of the President’s decision. I am withdrawing from public life, resigning from my parliamentary mandate, and also from leading the EP list. I am grateful to everyone for their work with whom I have been able to work as a team in recent years. Hungary can continue to count on me in the defense of our national interests and values.”
