OmanAir and SalamAir have significantly expanded their Salalah operations for Khareef Dhofar 2026, increasing daily seat capacity by almost 400% during the busiest days. Oman Air has increased the number of seats available to Salalah from approximately 675 per day in April to more than 3,000 on days of highest demand, while SalamAir has increased its own daily capacity from 495 seats per day to 1,505 per day over the same period. Together, the two airlines have added 192 extra flights and 35,639 additional seats on the Muscat-Salalah route during July alone. As well as expanded domestic services, the airlines have also introduced several new international services, making it easier than ever for both Omanis and international visitors to experience Dhofar during its most celebrated season. Prioritising both accessibility and affordability, Oman Air has maintained its fixed national fare for Omani citizens at the same level introduced in 2023, offering return flights between Muscat and Salalah for just RO54. SalamAir continues to offer its popular residents' fare, starting from just RO9.99 one way, and recently celebrated the arrival of its newest aircraft, 'Salalah', by offering every seat on its inaugural return flight at RO9.99.
The Social Protection Fund (SPF) obtained the international certifications of ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management Systems, ISO 10002:2018 for Complaints Management, and ISO 18295:2017 for Contact Centre Management. This achievement is the culmination of the SPF’s efforts to implement an integrated management system based on global best practices. This system enhances service quality, improves operational efficiency, develops customer experience, and fosters a culture of quality and continuous improvement, aligning with the fund’s commitment to achieving institutional excellence. The SPF received international certification after completing all phases of the integrated management systems project. The phases included a current situation assessment, gap analysis, development of an implementation plan, documentation of procedures, staff training, implementation of training programmes, internal audits, and an external audit that confirmed the SPF’s systems meet the requirements of the approved international standards. This achievement contributes to numerous institutional gains, most notably improved service quality, enhanced performance efficiency, improved decision-making mechanisms, clarified responsibilities and authorities, and a solidified methodology for continuous improvement. It also strengthens customer and beneficiary trust by providing services based on internationally recognized standards. The SPF said that obtaining international certification represents a significant milestone in its institutional development journey and marks the beginning of a new phase focused on maintaining and continuously developing the integrated management system, conducting periodic reviews, and measuring performance. This ensures sustained compliance with international standards and fosters a culture of excellence and quality.

The Sultanate of Oman has summoned Mousa Farhang, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Sultanate of Oman, to hand him a formal note of protest following the targeting of sites in the Governorates of Musandam and Al Wusta by unmanned aerial vehicles. The note of protest was handed over by Shaikh Khalid bin Hashil al Musalhi, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Administrative and Financial Affairs, when he received the Iranian Ambassador in Muscat today.
