@SuicideChrist My 24yo girlfriend of 5 years (I’m 28) randomly got necrotizing pancreatitis September of last year. We went to bed after a normal night and woke up to calling an ambulance and life has changed ever since. In the past 9-10 months she’s spent significantly more time in the hospital than at home. At times we didn’t know if she was even going to make it. More than half of her pancreas is dead inside of her, and she now has disconnected duct syndrome causing even more pain than someone who didn’t get that complication. I’ve spent every day with her at the hospital helping her an I’ve been her caretaker since day one. After countless complications, procedures, tubes surgically put in and out of her body (I had to help put a couple in because she refused to go through it unless I was by her side. Was brutal.) we are nearing the end of what they can do. She’s in constant pain everyday, she can’t live her life without the support of some heavy medications and that weighs on her. She lost over a hundred pounds and needs a walker to move around. She recently has a feeding tube that hangs from her nose to try and help with the malnutrition. There’s been times she hasn’t had food or water in her mouth for months. The last Hail Mary the doctors have that they’ve been putting off cause of how risky it is is a distal pancreatectomy, which is a very major surgery an in her position has a significant morbidity rate. She may end up worse or not wake up. They have to cut open her abdomen, remove her stomach, her intestines then work on removing the dead part of the pancreas. She will end up a diabetic for life and there’s no guarantee how much it’ll help her pain. She already can’t eat food without a very expensive enzyme medication called creon that replaces the function of the pancreas. It’s been a very long, brutal, and dark road for us both. I’ve struggled with sobriety for most of my adult life so far primarily alcohol and I got sober because of her. I needed to be the best version of myself to be there for her. It’s been hard and I struggle at times but I’ve maintained the path. Even with all she’s going through she still thought about me. I’ve been going to $uicideboy$ shows since I was 18 but the past couple years I’ve unfortunately been priced out. She with her limited funds she spent over $1,000 and bought the both of us tickets to grey day this year. She even got my brother who’s never been able to go to a show tickets for him and his gf. We’re hoping she’s able to make it and we’re hopeful. It’ll be one of the last big things we do before her surgery. One other big thing is I plan on proposing to her by the end of the month. Finances be willing, I cant let her potentially leave this world without taking out relationship to the next level. She’s always been my best friend and after this idk how we could get any closer. The boys music, especially your solo stuff has been a big help to us both through out this (levitate is what we refer to as our song lol) I was hoping you could send some kind words her way to show some support, maybe even pray for the both of us, especially her. it would mean the world to her an boost her spirits in this dark time. We were both brought up religious but didn’t care for it again until this time in our lives. but man this situation brought us closer to it than we ever were. We hope to see the boys in Massachusetts this year. Thank you for reading this, who ever does. I appreciate it regardless if it makes it to scrim or not.
