Interceptor 004 was planned for transfer to its location in the Rio Ozama yesterday, but, due to #COVID_19, this has been postponed. Although this matter is slowing down activity all over the world, we are continuing our work towards our mission. Stay safe and stay tuned.

From the Great Pacific Garbage Patch to Rotterdam, our first batch of plastic has landed in the Netherlands for sorting. Once this is completed, we will transfer it for recycling.
With 1.8 trillion plastic pieces floating in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, 46% of the mass is made up of fishing nets, not microplastics (which is a common misconception). You can learn more about our research on the Great Pacific Garbage Patch here: theoceancleanup.com/great-pacific-…
Yesterday the Dominican Republic welcomed Interceptor 004. There are a few more steps to complete before operations can commence, but it’s almost ready to start cleaning the Rio Ozama.
