The Government of Zimbabwe awarded a contract to crooks in the ruling ZANUPF party to supply 632,001 goats for US$87 million. That's US$137 per goat, whereas these goats typically cost between US$20 and US$30 each! They were given a deposit of US$4.3 million and delivered only 5,000 goats, in other words they spent roughly US$150,000 and pocketed the rest, they stole US$4,150,000 They used the rest of the money to buy cars, party with South African baddies in Cape Town, and build a mansion in Harare. Please note that these are just ordinary goats, not Boer goats. At most, they sell for US$20 to US$30 each at Midzi Roundabout. At US$30 each, US$4.3 million would have bought 143,333 goats, but they only supplied 5,000 indigenous goats and were not arrested for fraud because influential people got a cut from this looting and plunder!!! P/s please note that all these figures are in the document authored by the crooks themselves. The Chief spokesperson for the Zimbabwean Government Nick Mangwana lied in April that 635,000 goats were supplied, it was all a big fat lie!!!

Zambia is very unhappy with the Zimbabwean president and his government for always speaking ill of Zambia and for what President Mnangagwa said to President Putin about Zambia being an American puppet. Zambia’s foreign minister, Mulambo Haimbe, said Zambia authenticated the video that went viral showing President Mnangagwa speaking about Zambia’s security relations with America. Zimbabwe imports goods worth US$245 million from Zambia, while Zimbabwe exports goods worth US$142 million to Zambia, leaving a trade deficit of US$103 million. This means that Zimbabwe imports more from Zambia than Zambia imports from Zimbabwe due to Zimbabwe’s collapsed economy. Zambian Foreign Minister Haimbe said President Mnangagwa’s conversation with President Putin was an attack on Zambia’s sovereignty.

He is in jail after being arrested last week with his son and 70 other young people who had met at his home to commemorate the 1976 South African Youth Day. Timba loves mentoring young people!!! Jameson Timba has lost a lot from supporting the struggle against tyranny in Zimbabwe. That is why every sane Zimbabwean should stand up for him and the 70 others who are in jail with him! This is a man I met around 2006 when he owned a thriving IT business in Harare and Bulawayo. He chose to support the struggle against corrupt rule and tyranny and lost all the contracts he had. He was part of Morgan Tsvangirai’s political backbone. I remember meeting him at O.R. Tambo Airport in September 2008 when I was flying back home with Morgan Tsvangirai. Timba had just landed from Harare. He was fleeing from the 2008 post-election violence, while Tsvangirai was returning home after being in hiding in Botswana for months. We were driven to the airport by Strive Masiyiwa’s security and team of drivers. My then boss, Tim Singleton, who now heads the Sky News foreign desk, flew me to Johannesburg to be on Morgan Tsvangirai’s flight back home. I was the ITV News producer covering Zimbabwe and I had a very good relationship with Tsvangirai who agreed that I would get exclusive access to film for our News at Ten programme on ITV News in the UK. As we went through VIP security at O.R. Tambo, Tsvangirai was told that one of his lieutenants had landed and wanted to see him before he flew out to Harare. It was Timba! “Do you have money,” Tsvangirai asked Timba. With tears overwhelming him, Timba simply said, “I will be fine, but our people have been brutalised and are in submission.” This man is a warrior for democracy who never makes noise about what he has done for the struggle or what he has lost because of it. It makes me cry when men like him are persecuted, lose everything, and we fail to even talk about their persecution and suffering! Timba shouldn’t be in jail for meeting with young people at his private residence. The captured and shameless courts in Harare must release this man and the 70 others! They were beaten up. Some can’t even walk, and yet ZANU-PF wants to join the @commonwealthsec while doing this! Remember Timba in your prayers. Remember the 70 young people who were arrested with him. This shouldn’t happen in a democratic country;m, well, Zimbabwe is a dictatorship! It's gut-wrenching to think of the injustices Timba and the 70 are facing, and the brazen abuse of power by the authorities. It is sad that the recognised CCC faction is quiet while Timba and the 70 others are being persecuted! We cannot let their stories be forgotten or overlooked. RETWEET

The two term presidential limit in the Zimbabwe Constitution was overwhelmingly agreed to by millions of Zimbabweans in 2013 and passed in a referendum which was voted on by over 80% of the electorate. It is supplemented by another clause in the Constitution which states that no incumbent can benefit from a constitutional amendment. These clauses were debated right across Zimbabwe and are the result of a deeply held belief that Presidents should not remain in office too long. It is reinforced by the fact that in its 44 year old history Zimbabwe has only had two Presidents and that is one of the key reasons why our Nation has performed well below its true potential. It is also a sad fact that our first President remained in office too long - until he was old and decrepit - causing some to remove him unconstitutionally through a coup. Coups cast Nations in a very poor light internationally. Had Mugabe gone early and made way for younger blood we would never have had this setback. Accordingly any move to amend these clauses now will not only be a grave violation of our Constitution, it will also perpetuate the perception that Zimbabwe is a banana republic and an unsafe investment destination. It doesn’t matter how this debate is camouflaged - it is wrong, dangerous and all patriots need to speak out against it. We should rather now be concentrating on what policies we need as a Nation to deliver clean water to citizens, ensure a safe, healthy environment, rapidly expand foreign investment and create millions of jobs.
