Les Jetons et scellements existent au P-O depuis la période néolithique. D’autres éléments étaient apparus au IVe M pour des fonctions de comptabilités comme les bulles enveloppes. On mettait des jetons dans ces bulles d’argiles qui faisaient donc offices d’enveloppes scellées.
