The US currently gives more military aid to Egypt than to Ukraine. Why?

Well, this was a pleasant surprise. The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board published a major piece criticizing the U.S. failure to provide Ukraine with the missiles it desperately needs to defend its cities from russia’s ballistic missile attacks. Someone shared my recent post, “I am utterly ashamed,” in the comments under the article. It became the most liked and the most shared comments under the piece. Thank you to everyone who is engaging with my posts, sharing, and helping to amplify this message. I hope people in Washington are listening. Because I meant every word I wrote: “I am utterly ashamed.” I am utterly ashamed that the US has stopped any help to Ukraine. We promised Ukrainians that if they give up their nuclear weapons we will guarantee their sovereignty. We made it official and called it the 1994 Budapest Memorandum. But when Ukrainian sovereignty came under attack in 2014, we did nothing. Just as we are doing nothing today to stop the russian aggression. I am utterly ashamed of the US president – a man who not only refused to help Ukraine survive, but openly sided with war criminal Putin. Since Trump took office, russia has exponentially increased its missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian cities and civilians. Trump gave them silent permission. I am utterly ashamed of those who voted for Trump, and especially those who still, after all the lies and betrayals, continue to cheer him on. I find such behavior despicable and morally bankrupt. Finally, I am utterly ashamed of everyone who remains silently complicit in this genocide. People who claim that they are "neutral." The time of judgment will come – whether in this life or eternity. As Dietrich Bonhoeffer said: "Silence in the face of evil is itself evil; God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act."

To understand just how irredeemably messed up academia is, compare the differences in how Cambridge treated Jason Arday and how Harvard treated Roland Fryer. One is a black sociologist; the other is a black economist. At this point, we are all very well acquainted with Jason Arday’s insane fabrications, plagiarism, and less-than-stellar research record. Yet he became the youngest black professor in Cambridge’s history at 37. Now look at the case of Roland Fryer. He produced rigorous, data-driven research, published extensively, and ran a major institute (EdLabs) at Harvard. He doggedly pursued the truth on one of the most charged questions in American public life. His landmark 2016 study titled “An Empirical Analysis of Racial Differences in Police Use of Force” examined millions of encounters and officer-involved shootings. It found that there were no racial differences in the raw data or after controlling for circumstances. In some datasets (notably Houston), blacks were actually less likely to be shot once the encounter was underway. As you know, this finding directly contradicted Black Lives Matter’s core orthodoxy that police systematically and disproportionately kill Black men out of racial animus. It was not only in vogue at the time; it was literally religion. Roland Fryer and his data were guilty of blasphemy. Harvard launched investigations into allegations of verbal sexual harassment and a hostile work environment in his lab. The process produced a two-year unpaid suspension, the permanent shutdown of EdLabs, and severe restrictions on his ability to advise or supervise. All this was investigated by a kangaroo court under Title IX. The recommendation for his alleged failings was sensitivity training, yet a faculty panel escalated it into career-crippling punishment. Fryer has said he was unfairly targeted because of the political inconvenience of his results. The contrast between how the academy treated these two men shows you how deep the moral rot is.

When they said Israel, he became irate and demanded a debate. They told him they did not want to discuss Israel/Palestine, and he appeared to walk away, after stating he was "against violence." Then he launched himself at the mother and started biting her ear and punching her until she lost consciousness. Attacking women on vacation will not help Palestinians. Everyone silent about this violence isn't helping anyone, either. All you are doing is harming innocent Jews.

Professor Kehinde Andrews on Radio 4 this morning defending Jason Arday and arguing that he is the victim of a smear campaign "because he is black". Of the allegation that Arday falsely claimed to have had a book published, Andrews says, "People start books and don't finish them all the time ... If it's true they gave him a job without knowing the book wasn't published, that's on them." In other words, it's perfectly fine for a Cambridge professor to lie about his credentials because the onus is on his employer to uncover the lie. Unbelievable.

I'm an AI-optimist, but I agree with this. That said, I believe it should be extended to include not promoting ghostwritten books and articles too.

🇩🇪 German special services thwarted an assassination plot against Stefan Thumann, head of the German defense startup Donaustahl that supplies drones to Ukraine. A suspect, Sergey N., was first detained near Thumann’s home in Bavaria after conducting surveillance but was released due to lack of evidence. Phone data later linked him to Russian intelligence. He was eventually arrested in Spain, along with a Romanian accomplice. Thumann had been outspoken against the Kremlin and was among the first to supply drones to Ukraine. He remains under enhanced security.

Still chuckling at the idea that Arday wouldn’t call the police when a masked knifeman hunts him down on campus but will when a journalist phones him up.

Insane story that has gotten zero attention: a Uyghur man was kidnapped and stuffed in a car trunk by two Chinese nationals in a wealthy LA suburb, who then executed him during a traffic stop in front of police officers. Motive not immediately clear. nytimes.com/2026/07/31/us/…

Abdul El-Sayed performed best in Michigan's wealthy and highly educated areas; Haley Stevens did better in places with lower incomes and fewer college degrees. Anyone who studied the history of the 20th century wouldn't be surprised by this. So a lot of ppl are surprised by this.

In Russia, a maniac who killed and raped 11 female students will go to war against Ukraine after serving only 3 years of his 25-year sentence. Vitaliy Manishin, known as the Barnaul Maniac, one of Russia’s most notorious serial killers who murdered and raped college students since the late 1980s while holding a government post as district head, has submitted a request to the Russian Ministry of Defense asking to be sent to the war against Ukraine. Relatives of his victims have raised the alarm, as the maniac has served only 3 years of the 25 he was sentenced to. Just 6 months after signing a contract with the Ministry of Defense, he is promised a full amnesty.
