「細胞農業によるサステナブル社会推進議員連盟」に参加し、我が国における細胞性（セルベース）食品産業の確立に向けた提言を取りまとめました。細胞性（セルベース）食品とは、動植物などの細胞を培養してつくられる食品や食品素材であり、その生産技術を「細胞農業」といいます。食料安全保障や環境負荷の低減、持続可能な食料供給の実現につながる、将来性の高い技術です。今回の提言では、①食品の安全性に関するガイドラインとロードマップの早期策定、②実証試験や量産化への公的支援の強化、③関係省庁の連携強化と中長期的な産業戦略の策定を求めました。私からは「細胞農業は技術開発だけでなく、多くの方に知っていただき、理解と応援の輪を広げることが重要です。また、環境の適応政策にも大きく貢献できる可能性があり、国を挙げて積極的にPRすべきです。そうすれば人材育成もできる」と発言しました。日本の優れた技術を世界で競争力のある産業へと育て、未来の食と環境を支える新たな成長分野として発展させるため、引き続き全力で取り組んでまいります。
