Lmao, piracy had nothing to do with it...people didn't start burning DC disc until years later in the early 2000s, way after Xbox came out. Sega went bankrupt can sold their DC IPs to Microsoft and their entire staff from Dreamcast became the entire staff for the first Xbox. Do your research, instead of spilling non-sense!

@PlayGamesNotCom No one is giving Microsoft crap over this. Go to Wal-Mart right now and look at their Xbox Section. Some Walmarts don't even have one. Best Buy you would be lucky to find 1 or two physical games. Nintendo has game key card which require you to download the game!

@LikeToBeBossy Y'all really need to do your research before continuing to follow trends! Sony's physical sales were 1% of their install base this entire generation! They only had 7 games that hit 100K physical copies. Between 78 to 85% of their sales were all digital.

It's not about what they want, it's about reality. I love physical copies too, but the reality and fact is! Majority of the games created since 2021 don't even fit on the disc anymore. You still have to go home and download the rest of the game, disc are useless. The numbers also proved, I'm not alone. My point is, you don't have to make a million post a day, attacking a company for making a logical business decision.

Sony already showed the facts and numbers publicly, people keep acting oblivious to it. This entire generation, they had 7 titles that barely sold a 100K physical copies, out of 125 million active PSN accounts. Digital sales were between 85 to 88% of their sales. This wasn't just a judgment call, it's business.

Sony and Ubisoft were transparent! Nintendo and Xbox started this digital only push first! Sony saw the numbers and said they are right and was last to move on. They literally created a factory in Austria strictly for producing and manufacturing their physical games. Does that sound like a company, that really wanted this to happen? It's not, but the numbers showed otherwise, and truly, just like the end of tapes, vhs, etc. It's time to move with the times. And people need to stop acting like it's only Sony, all platforms will be digital only starting in 2028, and let me be clear, this is only on new releases starting in 2028, People acting like games coming out tomorrow will be digital only, that's not the case.

Can't believe how much people are still blaming Sony! Looking over notes of Nintendo and Xbox started pushing digital only first! Sony agrees and publicly announced it with transparency, after only 1% of the sales of their games were physical disc, this generation! Grow up people, times are changing, you'll have to adapt.
