August mistake I see constantly: "My pool is crystal clear, so chemistry must be perfect!" Wrong! Acid water is clear because it's too harsh for algae to grow - but it's also destroying your equipment. Test weekly, not just when water looks bad.

Pro tip for Tennessee's August storms: Test your pool water within 24 hours after heavy rain. Acidic rainwater can drop your pH dangerously low overnight. Low pH = crystal clear water that's eating your pool surfaces and equipment.

August evaporation in Tennessee can cost you 2-3 inches of pool water per week! As water evaporates, your chemicals get concentrated. Don't just add water - test and rebalance your chemistry. Concentrated chemicals = equipment damage.
