Charlie Brown get a rock instead of candy. They laugh. They don't know they're watching a man's autobiography. When Charles Schulz was a boy, the other children called him Sparky. The name of a horse in a comic strip. A joke horse. He failed every single subject in eighth grade. Not one or two. Every. Single. Subject. But the grades weren't the worst part. Paul Harvey told this story, and his voice cracked on this line: "Sparky wasn't actually disliked by the other youngsters. No one cared enough about him to dislike him." He wasn't hated. He was nothing. The one thing he had was his drawings. He submitted cartoons to the school yearbook. Rejected. He wrote to Walt Disney. Poured everything into the drawings. The reply was a form letter. Disney only hired the very finest artists. Sparky was not among the very finest. Harvey paused there. Then: "I think deep down, Sparky expected to be rejected." This is where the motivational speakers lie to you. The rest of the story isn't about winning. Sparky didn't try to prove them wrong. He wrote his autobiography in cartoons. He drew himself. The loser. The kid who failed everything. He named him after himself. Charlie Brown. You know what Charlie Brown never does? Win. His kite crashes. Lucy pulls the football. The Little Red-Haired Girl doesn't notice him. And sixty years later, we still watch. Not because Charlie Brown succeeds. Because Charlie Brown keeps showing up. Here's the part even Paul Harvey didn't tell. Schulz taught Sunday school. He read the Bible so constantly his strips are filled with scripture. When network executives tried to cut Linus reciting Luke 2 from the Christmas special, Schulz refused. Either the Gospel stays, or there's no special. It stayed. A boy called a horse. A student who failed everything. An artist Disney rejected. Planted the Gospel of Luke in front of sixty million homes. The loser became the messenger. God has a history of using the rejected ones. Moses had a stutter. David was the forgotten son. Peter denied Him three times. The kite never flew. But the Gospel did. Still falling? Good company, brother. Get up. He's not done with you yet.

I have awful news... An illegal immigrant in North Carolina has sadly smashed into the car a mother and her two young children. One of the children, Calli Toler, did not survive and has gone to be with the Lord. She was just 6 years old. Troopers said 33-year-old Jaime Santiago Corona, an illegal immigrant, was traveling south with a revoked license in a Dodge Ram pickup when he failed to stop at a stop sign. He T-boned Kelli Toler's SUV at an extremely high rate of speed. Kelli and her 4-year-old son are fighting for their lives at the hospital, but little Calli was pronounced de*d at the scene. Please, please pray for this family.

Even worse: evidence strongly suggests Tamar’s body was moved after the accident. The driver didn’t just flee, they dragged her off the road and left her there like an animal. The driver received only a €1,500 fine for looking at his phone while driving. He then disappeared completely. The fine was returned “undeliverable” and for years he was untraceable. Only after years of fighting by the family (including going to court to force prosecution), a breakthrough came in March 2026: the now 33-year old Jamal is finally being prosecuted for causing the fatal accident and leaving the scene. Just like Henry Nowak in Southampton — an innocent young person dies, authorities seem more focused on protecting a narrative and avoiding “political incorrectness” than on delivering swift justice. A 14-year-old girl dies on a Dutch dike. The system lies about the identity of the driver, gives him a slap on the wrist, loses him for years, and only after massive pressure does real prosecution begin. This is not just a traffic accident. This is a story about truth, accountability, and what happens when institutions put ideology before grieving families. Her name was Tamar. She was 14. She deserved better. ♡

The defenceless Irishman was forced to his knees, pleading for mercy as one teenager repeatedly punched and kicked him in the head. The second boy filmed the assault on his mobile phone. Alex screamed for help and begged them to stop. He had already handed over his wallet and bank cards, but hesitated when they demanded his gold ring, a gift from his father. That moment of hesitation cost him his life. The beating continued. Alex was left unconscious on the ground. He died three days later on 20 May in Connolly Hospital from catastrophic head injuries. His family made the selfless decision to donate his organs. Two 16-year-old boys were arrested and charged with assault causing serious harm and robbery. The main attacker is a second-generation migrant born and raised in Ireland. The other, who filmed the attack, is a migrant with dual nationality. Both were described by locals as having non-native features. Gardai later recovered the stolen ring from one of the boys homes, and Alex’s father identified it in court. The teenagers appeared in Dublin Children’s Court on 27 May. A judge imposed strict reporting restrictions, warning against naming them or sharing the video of the attack circulating online due to their age. Bail was refused, and both teenagers remain remanded in custody. On Saturday 30 May, what would have been Alex’s 38th birthday, hundreds gathered in Ballyfermot to farewell him. While Alex’s funeral took place, the Irish mainstream media gave far more coverage and focused far more outrage on the death of Congolese national Yves Sakila, 35. Sakila, who had dozens of previous convictions and multiple prison terms for repeated shoplifting, died on 15 May after being restrained by security staff during another shoplifting attempt. His death was quickly framed by activists as Ireland’s George Floyd moment, sparking protests, political speeches, and claims of racism. Alex’s killing, a local Irish family man robbed and beaten to death in broad daylight while pleading for mercy received far less attention. Coverage focused on the attackers age and anonymity, with zero discussion of backgrounds or nationalities. There were no mass candlelit vigils when Alex died, no major protests demanding justice, no political statements, and no national campaigns declaring that his life mattered. No Netflix documentaries will ever examine Alex's final moments. Certain tragedies fit a preferred political narrative and ignite weeks of outrage. Others, like the brutal murder of a gentle Irish family man, are treated as less newsworthy. This selective response from the Irish media and political class is an insult to Alex and every family who has lost someone in similar circumstances. Alex Coughlan’s life mattered.
