Learn to be down to earth. Be polite. Never become so successful that you forget how to treat ordinary people. Greet people. Say please and thank you. Respect the cleaner, driver, security guard, waiter, junior colleague and stranger with the same basic dignity you give someone powerful. You don't lose status by being kind. If anything, humility makes your success more meaningful. You can be powerful without making people feel powerless around you.

I have to interrogate any “principled” writing I put out: Do I actually believe this? In what manner does my lifestyle reflect that belief? How do I approach personal reviews and external debates? That’s why I don’t even embrace men who think they resonate with me simply because they like certain pieces. Liking something, or feeling flattered by it, doesn’t mean you resonate with the person who wrote it, especially if the latter is multifaceted. And this is okay. I’m not that familiar.

A man is timid. He feels he has to pay women for giving him attention, even when they don’t ask for it. When some men try to protect him from his own self, he attacks them. But when some women exploit this timidity, he makes a point how evil women are and expect empathy from the same men he wouldn’t ordinarily give a damn about. Do you mean realise that women are just people; and people take advantage of people when they find leverage and weak boundaries? Many men are so tough with their utterances, but want to be applauded for their weaknesses. Jokes.
