Did you know that almost 70% of all sexual abuse cases go unreported? This makes it difficult for victims to receive the help they need. That's why there should be a strong awareness campaign defining sexual abuse, and it starts with seeing a sexual abuse counselor.
For obvious reasons, your sexual health can suffer after a sexual assault or years of sexual abuse. That said, by working with a sexual abuse counselor, you can learn to separate your past sexual abuse from your current sexual relationship. Ready to reclaim your sexual health?
Unfortunately, many people who experience sexual violence, assault, or abuse turn to unhealthy outlets like drugs or alcohol to numb the pain, fear, and anxiety. But there's a better way: sexual abuse counseling can help you avoid the pitfalls of substance use.

Like it or not, but refusing to use condoms or restricting someone’s access to birth control, as well as keeping someone from protecting themselves from sexually transmitted infections is sexual abuse. Threatening or pressuring them into unwanted sexual activity is also abuse.

Psychotherapy (cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavior therapy), Ketamine infusion therapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation, group therapy, and even prescription medications can be beneficial for survivors of sexual assault.
