Here's where the Wolves salary cap sits after the LaMelo Ball trade If Isaiah Evans gets the $1.3 rookie minimum, the Wolves are $9.6 million under the 2nd apron with 3 roster spots to fill If they sign 3 vet minimums, they would have $2.2 million left. Wolves could also try to re-route Josh Green's $14.6 million expiring as they need a starting power forward

Anthony Edwards and Jaden McDaneils are now the longest-tenured Timberwolves players. Behind them is Rudy Gobert Pretty much par for the course now in the NBA, but still interesting that the Wolves roster has now completely turned over since 2020
Initial thoughts: -Setting everything aside, bummer to see Naz go. Was always great to talk too and of course the fans will miss him too -I think in a vacuum, the Wolves did well value wise with this trade. Got a former All-Star with All-NBA upside and skills and LaMelo is a perfect fit need-wise -The upsides are huge. Ball's playmaking and shooting next to Edwards should help open everything up or everyone else. With Jaden and Rudy still on the roster, they are well setup to cover up for him defensively -Downsides are also pretty big too. LaMelo closed last season really strong, but if he reverts back to looking like a beyond unserious basketball player in previous seasons, not sure how the Wolves pivot out of that -Have to keep LaMelo healthy. Last year he played 70+ for the first time since being a rookie and only played 28 MPG -This is pretty close to an all-in move, no more excuses, Wolves have to be a title contending team and act like it from the start of the season -For better or worse, Connelly has traded away every first-round pick available to him each time he could. 4 years ago it was Rudy, 2 years ago with Dillingham and now with Ball
