Looks to be the start of a major trend reversal for energy relative to the rest of the market. $XLE vs. $SPY
The industrial sector $XLI closed last week at its highest level in history. Starting to look like a parabolic uptrend. The most economically sensitive stocks seem to be painting a resilient economic picture.
S&P 500 futures $ES are breaking down after hours with ES completing this multi-month topping formation.
Energy stocks $XLE posted a beautiful monthly close. This 18-year consolidation finally looks to be breaking higher, which could mean more upside for energy stocks in 2026.
The materials sector $XLB is hitting new record highs today, in the midst of a multi-year base breakout.
Industrial automation company Honeywell $HON might be ready to push higher out of this 5-year ascending triangle pattern.
Steelmaker Nucor Corporation $NUE is setting up to breakout of this 4-year base.
Not the prettiest close today for Amazon $AMZN. If you zoom out a bit though, there’s a major year-long accumulation pattern that looks ready to breakout.
Construction materials company Builders FirstSource $BLDR put in a hell of a candle on Friday after Trump requested 200 billion in mortgage-backed securities purchases to try to lower mortgage rates. BLDR is coming off strong support on the weekly chart.
Energy stocks $XLE look ready to breakout on multiple timeframes. Weekly and monthly perspectives
Aerospace/defense stocks $ITA are hitting record highs relative to the broader industrial sector $XLI. ITA/XLI
Glass jar maker Ball Corporation $BALL is still working higher off this $45 level, which has acted as support since 2022.
Crude oil $CL reversed early losses and is still holding above this major support level, refusing to break down.
