for those that know our deep lore, this was a chapter in our dark ages which ultimately led to us careening into the deep end to make our own game there's a lot of shit that happened in life that led to this. we'll probably write a blog (or you'll hear it in an interview)

i firmly believe if you can do something that tactically matters in a game, it should have a mechanical framework somewhere to support it. modern tabletop roleplaying games are figuring stuff out, but i think that's where my personal tension lies

reading through #Daggerheart with my game designer brain and i think this ability is kind of emblematic of a big design deficiency that's a tension at the core of many modern role playing games. this is a core class ability (warrior) that effectively is not a rule - why?
