South Africa is a constitutional democracy that is deeply rooted in the rule of law, justice and equality. The South African government has not confiscated any land. The recently adopted Expropriation Act is not a confiscation instrument, but a constitutionally mandated legal process that ensures public access to land in an equitable and just manner as guided by the constitution. South Africa, like the United States of America and other countries, has always had expropriation laws that balance the need for public usage of land and the protection of rights of property owners. We look forward to engaging with the Trump administration over our land reform policy and issues of bilateral interest. We are certain that out of those engagements, we will share a better and common understanding over these matters. The US remains a key strategic political and trade partner for South Africa. With the exception of PEPFAR Aid, which constitutes 17% of South Africa’s HIVAids programme, there is no other funding that is received by South Africa from the United States.

Many people have been wondering why there is so much raw sewage in Zimbabwe’s Lake Chivero, Harare’s main source of drinking water. These are sewer pipes in Harare, they are carrying raw sewage but as you can see, they are old and no longer fit for purpose. Today, the entirety of Zimbabwe’s capital city, Harare, lacks a modern sewer system because successive ZANUPF governments have failed to maintain, let alone replace, this critical infrastructure. Those of you who grew up in Zimbabwe’s urban areas during the 1980s will remember how we used to run on top of these sewage pipes as kids. All they required was regular maintenance and timely replacement where needed. How do they even continue pumping sewage when it all ends up in the Mukuvisi River which pushes it to the drinking water source, Lake Chivero? This level of incompetence and corrupt governance is both historic and insane, it should not be happening in a country like Zimbabwe, whose citizens hold powerful engineering jobs across the globe. How did we sink to this level of embarrassment, where we can’t even sort out sewer pipes because of a broken economy authored by a corrupt authoritarian regime? Does the central government understand that it authored this disaster through years of looting and economic mismanagement and hiring incompetent people? When we raise these issues, we are called Western puppets, yet our people are literally walking on top of raw sewage!

This claim is not applicable especially to players who do not collect and process Personally Identifiable Information (PII) for commercial or business use. Personally identifiable information (PII) is any type of data that can be used to identify someone, from their name and address to their phone number, passport information and I.d number. The public is encouraged to disregard this notice with the uttermost discontent it deserves as it is inconsistent with our legal provisions as espoused in Statutory Instrument (SI) 155 of the 2024 Cyber and Data Protection (Licencing of Data controllers and Appointment of Data Protection Officers) Regulations. On my LinkedIn post I never expressed any intentions to licence or penalise WhatsApp groups or Administrators of any social media platform/s which do not collect and process (Personally Identifiable Information (PII) for commercial or business use. I wish to assure the public of government's commitment through the Ministry of Information Communication Technology Postal and Courier Services to accelerate cyber and data democratisation and security to ensure that No One and No Place is Left Offline. This is in line with our overarching mandate to the constitution to promote access to information for all in a safe and secure environment.
