In an new article by FRVR, Zakhar Bocharov and Ievgen Kulyk from GSC Game World share some more insight into the Unreal Engine 5.5 Upgrade. Kulyk mentions the reason the upgrade is taking so long is due to the number of custom plugins / systems GSC created themselves for the engine (and it takes a long time to update all of them) “Still, if the new tech helps the game run better and feel nicer, we’re all in.” They also state that they believe players will “really feel a difference once the full upgrade is ready”. Mostly known, but still sharing. Good hunting, stalkers.
