@tony_tennyson Like most slang, it’s rooted in a foreign language or two. Pittsburgh had dozens of neighborhoods packed with fresh immigrants who came to work in the multitude of manufacturing and mining jobs in Western Pennsylvania 15 decades ago. I’m sure its history has been documented.
@Matt_Pinner What kind of “tax”? I think that real estate tax on a retired person’s primary residence is wrong, especially if that homeowner has lived in that dwelling for over a set number of years; say 15. People should not be taxed out of a homestead after retiring.
