Now that reports say Nigeria has discovered significant lithium and rare earth deposits in Kaduna and around Abuja, maybe... just maybe... Elon Musk will start paying closer attention to Nigeria. 👀 Tesla needs lithium. Nigeria has lithium. But this time, we shouldn't settle for extraction contracts that ship our wealth abroad while we earn the smallest share. We need more than mining. We need processing plants. We need battery manufacturing. We need technology transfer. We need skilled jobs for Nigerians. If companies are coming for our resources, let them build with us—not just buy from us. We've lived through the oil era, exporting raw materials and importing finished products at a premium. We shouldn't repeat the same story with lithium. Nigeria has the opportunity to become part of the global electric vehicle and battery supply chain—not just a supplier of raw materials. Build with us, not just from us.
