#NRL Rd 18 #StandWithJai Went this way. Penrith v Souths — CommBank Stadium Panthers off two defeats and again with 4 key rep outs, while Rabbits are missing Murray, Johnston from recent weeks but get Wighton back. In a game likely decided by spine and direction Panthers will be tested, and Rabbits look to hold an edge, thought Talagi looked exposed last week, and I’m sure sees plenty of traffic. Rabbits not as good as the scoreboard suggested last week and against week opposition, but do need to keep winning and this a significant game for the players and club in support of Jai. Looks tight, small lean to Rabbits. Rabbits by 4 Dragons v Tigers — Jubilee Stadium Two scrappy strugglers meet at Jubilee in what looks an ugly tight contest. Last weeks offering v Raiders pretty much sums up the Dragons season, positive effort, self error and crap luck all rolled into one. Tigers without Luai and May; not sure that game last week was all that close, but with Doueihi and Koroisau they can be creative and play some handy ball shift. Trick game, the recent patches of the Dragons best can win, but it doesn’t often last for 80 mins. Slight edge to the Tigers smarts and attack. Tigers by 4 Broncos v Cronulla — Suncorp Stadium Broncos have a very long line of quality missing here with both the rep and injury outs all missing; massive job for Hunt to steer this around; and with all of that strike out, where do their attack and points come from to try and break this 7-game losing run? Sharks also with 3 rep outs but look to balance up ok, Trindall and Hynes get the chance to run this game and possibly dominate. Expect Sharks keep this simple and look to work over the middle third of the park all afternoon and clear out to a winning position. Sharks by 8 Eels v Sea Eagles — CommBank Stadium Impressive hit back by the Eagles last week off a loss that never should have occurred, out of the blocks strongly to race away to a commanding position and then comfortable home win. While having 3 key outs they also do pick up a few decent ins and player returns for this week and line up strongly. Key watch on Walsh now and the opportunity he has. Eels again crumbled poorly last week and since all but the season start have leaked 30 a week and rolled out the red carpet for defeat. Key watch on Pezet and his offering. Eagles look to have too much smarts and strike against an opponent that will eventually let you through the door. Eagles by 10 Knights v Dolphins — McDonald Jones Stadium Pity Origin punches a hole in this game with 8 rep outs as with a full house in Newcastle this could have been a beauty. Knights won ugly last week (very ugly), but you’ll take those if you can keep winning; they have also been playing various players in and through key roles through the last 6 weeks to cope with their rep outs, and line up strongly here. Dolphins have been super, 8 straight wins, great attitude and significant depth; they are building like a real contender now – but 6 rep key outs, including now Katoa, certainly hurts. Think this game might have been on the Knights' radar for a few weeks; slight edge with home track and line-up. Knights by 4 Good luck with yours!
