There's a much simpler move that @GovTinaKotek can to keep the @trailblazers in #Portland That is to establish a #relocationfee if the @NBA and its #boardofgovernors approves said relocation. So on top of the one the NBA implements, the state also imposes one which makes it impossible for the team to leave $15 billion relocation fee at minimum

Most of these private equity teams would rather extract your money and pocket it instead of signing the players you want.
Giants fan but I have never been mad at the dodgers for this. Any other team in MLB could do this. The giants especially could do this/gave a blank check to Ohtani. But they don’t, because the owners of American sports teams are cheap and won’t even pay for their own stadiums.
