I've long said that as long as we don't annex or create a buffer zone in Arakan/Rakhine, the Rohingya crisis won't end. Just as Turkey created a buffer zone in northern Syria, housed hundreds of thousands of refugees there, and funded a militia called the SNA.

@BehdinEran @websterkaroon I didn't say that. I said that US-Israeli defence relations won't change just because (hypothetically) the Iranian regime collapses or the IRGC is destroyed. Israel will always find its next bogeyman. It could be Egypt, Turkiye, or even Syria.

@BehdinEran @websterkaroon I understand your perspective, but that is not entirely true, is it? The US will fund the Israeli military with advanced equipment regardless of whether the IRGC exists. They are now even introducing a law in Congress that will integrate the two militaries.

However, the price they would have to pay includes the end of U.S. hegemony, tens of thousands of dead and wounded soldiers and a massive global oil and gas crisis that would significantly reduce global GDP. No side other than Israel wins.
