AI and ML are tools that could be industry changing. These tools aren't "evil"... they're just tools. The issue is the people and corporations that are abusing them for their bottom line. Don't blame a tool, blame the person taking advantage of it.

4) A second perspective. I'm a solo, indie developer. I tend to have OUTLANDISH ideas for balance and sometimes it's nice to ask AI to create a pros and cons tables from an objective lens... is that so wrong?

Melee attacks are divided into light, balanced, or heavy. It's about how you use the weapon, not the amount of iron in it. It's about a player being able to adapt and telling their story; not settling for a weapon because of mathematics. Enjoy 🍻

The weapons in TTRPGs make little sense. Intuitively, a greatsword does not deal more damage than a greataxe. Right? Right. So, how does our system handle weapon damage? 🧵

This comes from the assumption that even when you swing a sword or shoot a bow, you're not completely whiffing most shots. They're parried or blocked. Which means you still "hit" your target.

I've never understood the assumption in TTRPGs where people "miss" attacks... I think the assumption should be you hit, but the level of success varies.
