WTF I thought you were exaggerating, but they are apparently classifying a cap, resistor etc. as distinctly different components by HS code and therefore a bag of mixed components gets +€3 for each component type. My only idea on how to get around this tariff somehow is just buying big cap, resistor etc. books and pray that every simple IC has the same HS code. If not hobby EE is dead.

I don't understand what you are getting at. What I meant to say is that someone that drives intoxicated and thus can't control their vehicle, shut be treated the same as someone who killed a person. It should be same. Of course the dead can not be brought back to life and thus there are immutable consequences. Knowing so any rational person would not drive intoxicated. Hence, we do not need to outlaw everything, which would otherwise imply that everything not prohibited causing such damage even knowingly would not be treated as such which to me is unreasonable. Also, most laws are by structure and nature not detailed enough to comprehend complex situations. Which is why the final outcome is the important thing to judge.
@sama Just asking, but would it be possible to have a testing group in the future for inference optimizations, so that people knowingly participate in testing to avoid backlash when an optimization reduces quality, before it is shipped to the masses?

Are you comparing against Anthropic API costs? If so have you looked at other providers with similar sized models and are we only counting new tokens or are you combining cached and new tokens? If that's the case multiply by 5%, and you have input&output tokens mixed assuming a ratio of 1 to 10 would mean 500M uncached produced expensive tokens. Taking into account that similar models get stuff done for about 1$/million token and that Anthropic will have the most optimized software on the planet for inference I don't think, that they are substantially or even subsiding it at all.
