SIRS side notes -The PaCO will be less than 32 due to tachypnea. Which is a common symptom of sepsis. -Band cells are (Young Immune White blood cells that release due to infection.

SIRS... The body then begins to compensate via a systemic inflammatory response. To diagnose SIRS or Sepsis, you must have 2 of the 4 criteria. 1) Temp >38C (100.5F) or <36 (96.8F) 2) HR >90 3) RR >20 or PaCO2 <32 (40= Normal) 4) WBC's >12000 or <4000 or 10% Band Cells.
