In 45 years of covering sports, in of covering college athletics, I've dealt with so many wonderful publicists with pro teams, national teams and primarily college sports programs. Kenny Klein was the MJ, the TB12, the Messi. You know this because I'm not the only one saying it.

One thing I always note when it I see it: I really appreciate when current or former athletes publicly shoutout the PR or communication staffers as the post below does. These are staffers who spend tireless hours working to put athletes in positive public positions. They have to navigate or manage up with executives or owners who sometimes really suck. They have to navigate players from all different backgrounds with different demands. They have to navigate a media corps who principally do not have the same objectives they do. (Nor should they.) Close to home: Toronto sports fans should know there are some exceptionally good PR chiefs in town running the Jays, Tempo and Raptors (the teams I've dealt with most) right now.
