This is some clown shit. Jerry Rice isn’t just the greatest WR all time, he is top 5 football player all time. If AB put up 15 straight 1,000 yard seasons, 15 straight, he would still be 7,895 yards short of Jerry’s total. Even former players fall into the thinking that athletic skills make you the best. It’s skills no doubt, but also craft, consistency, durability, mental focus, preparation and not allowing anything to derail their greatness. While music journalism as a whole has painfully devolved into clickbait, content and paid advertising over the last decade or so, it is very sad to see passionate, skilled writers trying to keep these outlets alive ultimately be gutted by their unqualified corporate ownership. Thank you to the talented and thoughtful minds who kept covering hardcore & independent music at @brooklynvegan, it did not go unnoticed by me or my peers.
