@teachbk Also, an assignment that repeatedly kicks students back to the beginning reinforces a feeling of failure and fosters a hatred of school. The OPPOSITE of what we want.

@teachbk There is no data backing up the use of homework assignments. You did the right thing by speaking to thr teacher first, but I would consider escalating this issue to administration. Forcing him to sign a book doesn’t sit with me well either.

@NicholasFerroni @ImperfectlyMeJH Teachers need to stop saying we teach for the outcome. It makes it ok to grossly underpay us. Did I get into teaching to be rich, of course not, but I also didn't realize my salary would be this low and my benefits this expensive. Outcomes don't pay the basic living expenses.

Kid scores 100% on a retest... Only given a 70%. For what possible justification do we put scores in the gradebook that do not match what a student knows? Here is some research for you "there is no average time to learn something" and each kid isn't the same so why act like it
