2026 Cosmic Chrome WWE Analysis First things first... @Topps, you need to promote the WWE odds sheet guy, give him a raise, and have him supervise every odds sheet in every other department. Aside from one tiny subset checklist snafu, this is the cleanest and most precise odds sheet I’ve had the pleasure of diving into. It really helps me nail down the numbers accurately. Here's to you, Mr. WWE Odds Sheet Guy. Real Man of Genius. Your work is officially Squatch approved. 🫡 You know it's a good day when I get to dive into a double dip of Cosmic Chrome. As much as I love the brand, the NFL version of it ended up having some fundamental issues. OK, one fundamental issue. But I'm not here to rehash. Time to clear the palate, tuck the napkin into the button-down, and cut into our second helping of Cosmic. Hopefully this one is not quite as charred as the first. Welcome to 2026 Cosmic Chrome WWE. Part 1: The Basics Cosmic WWE released on June 4th at a price of $240/box. Wait, what?! Did I not just do a breakdown a couple hours ago of the exact same product, but with Bo Nix on the cover and a drop price of 650 damn dollars? I'd say we're off to a pretty stellar start. That's how you make an entrance. Show people value before anything else. The rest of the fare is typical Cosmic: 20 packs/box, 4 cards/pack, Hobby format only Part 2: Production Numbers Total cards in product: 2,576,000 Okaaaaay. I see you. Remember what that Bo Nix Cosmic was? Let me refresh your memory. Cosmic NFL total cards: 4,632,600 So not only is WWE less than half the price, it's also 44.4% thinner? I mean, I expected it to be shorter printed than an NFL juggernaut with a lukewarm rookie class. But cheaper, leaner, and hotter? We gotta be careful. That usually ends with an empty wallet, an Uber ride home at 3:47am and a wicked hangover. Total box production: 32,200 (4,025 cases) There's even less of this printed than the always-limited Cactus Jack NBA that drops tomorrow. (3.03m). The only quasi-bummer in the whole scenario? No Lunar boxes. However, there are Lunar Eclipse Refractors /10 distributed scarcely throughout the product. No regular person ever hits a Lunar Box anyway. But in a sub-$300 product, there would definitely be a far better chance of that happening for us Average Joes. Maybe next year. I suppose we always have to leave a tiny bit of room for improvement. Part 3: Heat Map Here’s what you can expect from an average Hobby box: Autos: 0.43 per box 43% of boxes should contain an auto, or roughly 1 auto every 2.32 boxes. That works out to 3.44 autos per case, which is actually stronger than typical Cosmic. In fact, it’s 26.5% more autos per case than Cosmic NFL. Parallels: 7.7 per box Inserts: 12.8 per box Numbered cards: 5.1 per box But we all know Cosmic Chrome is really about the rare insert chases. For WWE, rare inserts include: Planetary Pursuits, Light Years, Cosmic Dust, Hyper Nova, Geocentric, and Starfractor. Here’s how those shake out: Rare inserts: 0.64 per box That means 64% of boxes should contain a rare insert, or 1 rare insert every 1.57 boxes on average. Rare inserts per case: 5.1 Planetary Pursuits per case: 3 So not only is the auto rate is better than expected, the rare insert chase follows suit. On average, you should see an extra 0.5 rare inserts per case than Cosmic NFL. Part 4: Value Map Since this product has already been out for a couple weeks, pricing has moved up from drop day. Boxes released at $240, but they’re currently sitting at $290 on Blowout and selling ~$280 on eBay. That’s a pretty tight gap. And when eBay sales start creeping that close to major dealer pricing, dealer pricing usually doesn’t sit still for long. So if you’re trying to get in, $280 may not be the worst deal you can find. That's what I'm basing the following numbers on. $/card: $3.50 $/parallel: $36.45 $/auto: $650.49 $/# card: $55.14 $/rare insert: $438.91 $/quality hit: $103.71 (Quality Hit means all parallels and inserts /75 or lower, Case Hit level inserts or rarer, and Autos /100 or lower.) I’m not sure if you caught my recent Platinum Chrome Baseball breakdown, but I raved about that product pretty hard. Long story short, I think it may be the product of the year so far. The $/Quality Hit on those Platinum Chrome Value Boxes was $99.00. Hobby came in at $101.20. Cosmic WWE? $103.71. From a value standpoint, that puts Cosmic WWE in the top 10 of over 130 product formats I’ve analyzed so far this year. Part 5: What Would the Squatch Do It’s unfortunate we didn’t have odds on this product before it launched. At the $240 launch price, I would have absolutely tried to snag a stack of these boxes. Quite possibly even a case. Even at $280, this still looks like an excellent value. And honestly, I miss Cosmic products being in this price range. In the major sports, Cosmic boxes are closer to $1K than they are $280. I do understand bigger sports carry bigger resale potential, especially NBA. But even with that caveat, it’s hard to deny the value Cosmic WWE is offering here. Now, I don’t pretend to be an expert in the WWE singles market. But I'm guessing there will be some solid deals on singles relative to their rarity. Check out the print runs below for some sneaky low PR candidates. Now, I stay very much on top of wax prices. And from a wax standpoint, it would not surprise me at all to see these continue creeping up. It’s also very possible they move more than a little. Putting some of these away sealed, if that's your game, could be a solid play as well. You don't have to be a WWE diehard to appreciate this product. At this price, casual WWE fans can justify it. Cosmic fans can justify it. Rare insert chasers can justify it. And degenerates like me who just want to rip fun wax can justify it. I know what I’ll be looking for next time I dip into the LCS. Timmy, throw me back a box or two. And at the very least, I’ve already set up ebay searches for some Planetary Pursuits. But I can’t tell you who. Then I might miss out on a deal. That would be very UnSquatchmanlike. "And that’s the bottom line... cuz Slab Squatch said so."
