I know some founders who are currently renting private jets to St Tropez, Croatia showing off, hiring escorts, renting yachts, penthouses in Soho London and around the world, attenting tennis events like some super star and living like they’ve already won. Meanwhile, some of their private investors are sitting at 85% losses at the first unlock. What happens at the next unlock? Who knows. This is one of crypto’s biggest cultural problems: instant gratification. Raising millions isn’t the same as creating millions in value. Investor capital isn’t a personal victory lap. Founders should be obsessed with building sustainable companies and returning value to the people who backed them not performing wealth before they’ve created it.

My dad passed away from dementia at 23 days shy of 73 in December too. I can only imagine the pain you and your family have been through. It’s such a cruel disease, many times last year as his main carer my mum was upset crying that it’s better my dad passes away than seeing him suffering further, unable to talk, to walk, to communicate in any form and inability to eat or recognise anyone,. It’s slowly takes so much from the person we love and from everyone around them. Sending you and your family so much love and strength. ❤️

Exactly. I was racially abused at university by another student. When I raised a formal complaint, the university made my life hell. I felt they were more concerned about protecting their image than properly dealing with what had happened. In turn of the twist I was made to apologise to the student, for someone sharing his photo in a student whatsapp group as we tried to find out who it was. Eventually, I told the people handling the investigation including the Vice Chancellor exactly what I thought aka fuck you and never looked back. Did The Times need to know about it? No. Would I recommend that university to my friends or family? Absolutely not. The point is that countless things happen at universities every day that could become national headlines. That doesn’t mean they should. Some students need to get a grip, and newspapers need to regain a sense of proportion. There are far more serious issues surrounding higher education that deserve sustained scrutiny the student loan system, spiralling tuition fees, graduate debt and whether students are actually getting value for money. But apparently silly headlines are more important.

The guilt must be hurting, isn’t it? I don’t know enough about the full story to judge who was right or wrong, and I’m not taking anyone’s side. But the media needs to stop relentlessly hounding people, whether they’re on the right, centre or left. My timeline is full of people piling on. At some point, when someone has taken responsibility, enough is enough. We’ve seen before what relentless media intrusion and public pressure can do. Lady Diana remains one of the most tragic reminders of where that culture can lead. Right or wrong, people are still human. Anyone has any thoughts about what he leaves behind, have you tried focus more investigation on things that are probably more serious such as student loans, leasehold and young people who are struggling ?? And governments come and go, yet no one wants to tackle the elephant in the room: Abolish tuition fees and student loans. You can’t keep asking young people to start adult life tens of thousands of pounds in debt, while house prices, rents and the cost of living keep rising. If we genuinely want young people to build wealth, buy homes, start families and contribute to economic growth, perhaps we should stop putting them into debt before their careers have even begun.

Over decades, we have overcomplicated land use and building regulations to the point where we’ve created a dysfunctional planning system. Layer upon layer of rules, consultations, restrictions and bureaucracy have made building slower, more expensive and increasingly unpredictable. Then we wonder why we have a housing shortage, soaring land values and an affordability crisis.

Every huge house can feel like a prison if you don’t know how to use it. In short: Play, chill, socialise. It’s not really a place for solo people. Get a bunch of friends or colleagues to sign up and build your own community there. If you’ve only been once or twice, I can understand why you might get that impression. But the summer dinners, late nights at the bars, music, events and people are the whole point. I’m genuinely not sure what else you expect from a private members’ club lol.

Compared to Soho House, I’d take that any day. Of course, if you want a high spec gym, private members’ clubs generally aren’t the place to go. You’d be better off with somewhere like Third Space or David Lloyd. You can’t really expect a top-level gym alongside all the benefits of a private club for that kind of money. If you want a genuinely top-notch gym + private club experience with all the amenities, expect to be paying £600–£700+ a month.
