Just a really dire state of affairs at the moment and a win tonight seems unlikely against an attacking team in Norwich; things could get toxic very quickly.

Ultimately if we end the day without Thomas, and with only a replacement for him, we can safely say we’ve had a poor transfer window and heads should roll. Not to mention there is the prospect of signing players for the manager and then potentially sacking the manager.

One of the most significant deadline days for Stoke in a long time. Likelihood is that we lose our biggest creative and goal scoring threat in Thomas, with very few options out there to replace him. No qualms with Thomas leaving, he deserves a chance in the Prem. Bleak for Stoke

Haven’t won in the league since we beat already relegated Sheffield Wednesday at home on Good Friday by the way. And that makes it 6 league losses in a row with Wolves and Norwich up next

@owl_s74 Getting a second yellow as a 70th minute sub is never a great sign! But yep so far not been hugely impressed but then again he’s having a lot asked of him.

@LeeHallam89 Agreed, even then we’d been dire before he left too. I think everyone is a bit sick of the reactive transfers & reluctance to change how we play. We’re so overly reliant on Tchamadeu being so good both ends of the pitch that everything seems to fall apart when he’s not there too.

I was a big fan of Johnson when he first broke through at West Ham, but feels like he’s been a bit part player the last couple of years. Given Tchamadeu’s injuries, this feels a really good option so long as he can stay fit and doesn’t pick up the Stoke curse.

@ACommonBluebird Little known fact about Stoke, we operate a strict, self-imposed rule to sign and field only players who were born in the Potteries or developed their football skills at a club within the region

@ellis_platten In the nicest way possible my favourite bits of the video was when Andy was evidently more interested in the shirts than any questions. The man got lost in an Everton lostalgia vortex. Loved it.

All in all, another classic 3/10 season for the rip roaring potters, who finish with a predictable whimper. Bring on a summer of wholesale changes and an opening day ‘this is our season’ once again, eh. #scfc

It all feels a bit last days of Rome with him lashing out at individuals and slating players in the post-match interviews. Couple that with the looming sword of needing to sell to buy every season and you can understand why fans are fed up.

That’s that for the 2025/26 season for Stoke. A season that promised a lot and ultimately finished exactly like every other seems to; nowhere. Injuries have played a huge part but recruitment and lack thereof has too. I dread to think where we’d be without Sorba Thomas.
