Air Force School Gandhinagar successfully conducted a three-day workshop on 'Promoting Inclusive Practices and Supporting Children with Special Needs' from 07-09 Jul 26 under the aegis of HQ SWAC. The workshop brought together students, parents, staff, Special Educators and nominated teachers from Air Force Schools across the SWAC AOR to promote inclusive education and strengthen support systems for Children with Special Needs. In response to a urgent request from civil administration during evening hours of 02 Jul 26, Air Force Stn Naliya proactively mustered assistance after a major fire erupted due to a head-on collision between an oil tanker and goods truck on Naliya- Kothara- Bhuj highway. IAF fire tenders and security team reached the spot and took stock of the situation. Two fire tenders were pressed into service duly supported by the security team to regulate traffic and creating a cordon for rescue effort. After a relentless operation of two hours the blaze was successfully controlled. Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor superannuated as Vice Chief of the Air Staff on 30 Jun 26, after four decades of distinguished service in the Indian Air Force. Commissioned on 06 Dec 1986 as a fighter pilot, he is a Qualified Flying Instructor and a Fighter Combat Leader. During his career he has held several crucial appointments, including that of Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South Western Air Command and TrainingCommand. An alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College and National Defence College, Air Marshal Kapoor was conferred with the SYSM, PVSM, AVSM and VM.
