You guys have clearly gone to a lot of effort to make the game accessible to Web2 players, but those players will still expect basics like naming and customising their character. I’d also be careful not to weaken the experience for Web3 players. Nobody wants to complete a dungeon alongside three characters who look identical. My first instinct was to recreate one of my old World of Warcraft characters, and I’m sure I wouldn’t be alone in recreating characters from other games in Elumia. That effectively allows your game to inherit some of the nostalgia and attachment players already have elsewhere. That’s absolute gold for you. One other thing worth mentioning: I’m not from the Immutable ecosystem, and during my playtime I didn’t see anything explaining the benefits of owning an NFT character, where to get one, or how it would improve my experience.

Halfway through the week and I’ve been slacking in the trying-new-games department. Until now! I’ve been having a play on @playelumia on @Immutable, using the Google Play version this afternoon. The first thing that stands out is how polished it looks. From the title screen and menus to the game itself, everything is extremely well presented. I chose the Champion class and embarked on the tutorial. It felt pretty comprehensive, although I don’t think it explained how to enable auto-attack, which would have been useful! (double click on the normal attack) After the tutorial, you arrive in a city with definite Stormwind vibes that appears to act as the main quest hub. I picked up a few quests and launched into a forest mission. I’m not the speediest player, but the first full dungeon took me around 16 minutes, only to be told I’d only killed 50% of the enemies at the end 😅 That felt a little long for such an early mission. When I think back to the opening quests in RPGs like World of Warcraft, they tend to be short and give you that quick dopamine hit of progression. I also had a slime quest objective displayed throughout the dungeon, so it was a little disappointing not to encounter any! I wasn’t completely sure where I should head next after that first dungeon, so I left it there for now. I’m interested to see how @Ryan_Triumph and the team continue to develop things.

The demand for rewards isn’t limited to developing countries. We’re seeing users join from all over the world. Honestly, I think the criticism is misdirected. Crypto has spent years encouraging people to chase airdrops, farm points and extract value, often with deafening promotion across X. That seems far more likely to encourage the behaviour you’re describing. We’re a small indie studio building a straightforward user acquisition tool for other indie developers. They can launch a campaign for as little as $11, with no complicated setup beyond a few API calls. Players get rewarded for trying new games, while developers get verified users completing genuine in-game objectives. That doesn’t damage Web3 gaming. It gives smaller studios an affordable way to reach players.

823 people have already completed KYC and at least one quest, so yes, people clearly see value in it. And nobody is doing all of that for $1. There are currently nine quests live, the highest single quest reward so far has been $4, and many more games and quests will be added over time. KYC also unlocks other benefits across the wider Kepithor ecosystem. It might not appeal to everyone, but the demand is clearly there.

@Ryan_Triumph @PlayElumia @Immutable First, I struggled to find that even after you told me it was there. Second, that's account nickname. IMO you should be able to name each character. If you can name a character you are more likely care more about it, and more likely to have multiple characters.
