The last couple of weeks of my personal life have been difficult, and I made a few rushed decisions that I regret. I have never been deeply involved in memecoins, even though people have used my characters, artwork, and likeness throughout the space for years. The first time I really paid attention to the memecoin world was back in 2023, when I joined a Twitter Space and was asked about Pepe. Seeing what one of my characters had become was strange, but it also showed me how much a single piece of art could grow into an entire culture and community. More recently, I took the easy route and agreed to work with a few projects without fully understanding the people or intentions behind them. After speaking with people I trust and taking a closer look at everything, I realized I do not want to jump from token to token or support projects simply because an opportunity is offered. That is not who I am, and it is not how I want my work to be represented. The $BOYZ team approached me with something that immediately felt different. Their idea was to take the Boys Club characters and reimagine them as heroes who stand up for the smaller people in the space. That message felt especially personal after what I experienced over the past week. I felt that some teams were more interested in taking advantage of my name, my artwork, and my lack of experience in crypto than treating me like a genuine partner. The idea behind Boyz N The Hood, which is looking out for people who are often overlooked or taken advantage of, was something I could deeply relate to after going through that experience myself. For years, people have profited from my creations while I mostly watched from the sidelines. With Boyz, I finally felt like there was an opportunity to participate in something that respected the characters, understood the world they came from, and wanted to build something original around them. Moving forward, Boyz N The Hood will be the only token I support. I will be working with the team, share more about the artwork, characters, story, and direction behind the project. I have also added the official website to my bio, and I will be sharing more about this partnership in the coming days. I appreciate everything this space has done for my creations like Pepe and Boys Club, and I want this to be a way to rebuild trust with the community and fully embrace the space, the right way.
