Getting more and more convinced that if you understand the "shared language" of your codebase... (i.e. the terms used, the names for things, relationships between them) ...AND those terms are used consistently in the codebase, then you understand the codebase. Whether you read the actual code or not. DDD has never been more powerful.

This is legit btw, I made this floating iPhone version in Codex with GPT-5.6-sol and Blender MCP with five prompts and 40 minutes Been using blender for a while, never got results as good as this

✨ I think I've been coding almost solely on my VPS with Claude Code for almost a year now All I can say it's just fantastic: - no need to keep laptop open ever - no laptop battery drain - can switch to phone or any other device you like whenever you want to continue (like when you're outside) - it just keeps going all night while you sleep (esp with /goal) - you can start hacky projects from scratch and go live in seconds because you're already on the server which is great to ship things and get it used by people fast (not stuck on your local laptop webserver) - it just feels like living in the future I used to code on my laptop, test locally, then push to GitHub, then it auto pulled and deploy to production, that'd take me ~1 minute to get a new feature out But then when I bought a new Mac Book Pro a few years ago I was too lazy to install a local Nginx environment, so I just started pushing to prod and everything went fine, and I sped up deploying to about 3 seconds from laptop to server, which people called me crazy for too But now with Claude Code on my VPS in the last year, it just live edits on my production server, which sounds like it should go wrong but it just doesn't, it's very careful and only twice in 12 months messed up which meant my site didn't load for 10 seconds which is OK If I wasn't working solo, like at a big company, I' think I'd recommend the same workflow but with a staging server, so it wouldn't touch production, for safety and regulatory reasons etc. but for me it's fine I agree with @theo completely, it's clear to me this is where it's going, also seeing @karpathy with Claude moving to the cloud (via Slack etc), I think AI "agents" and AI coding will operate on servers / from the cloud first P.S. I have 3-2-1 backups, multiple on-site and off-site backups which you should also even if you wouldn't code with AI, safety first!

The whole WFH narrative only made sense in the pre-agent world. I think it's absolutely ridiculous now. Sure, have a big expensive office if you need that for your customers or your sales team to close big deals, but the idea that people who are managing 5+ concurrent agentic threads are more effective in an office is just a joke. In fact, I'd argue that when it comes to revenue, one of the most important things is that your sales folks are out of the office hosting dinners and networking, and they should be in the office 0% of the time. This is coming from a guy who has raised kids and has worked both in the office and from home over the last 25 years.

i'm obsessed with AI DIY projects my favorite one right now is this guy who built an AI system that listens for birds outside his apartment, figures out what species they are, and paints them on his wall. here's how the whole thing works: 1. a cheap usb mic on his balcony listens for birdsong 24/7 2. BirdNET, Cornell's AI model trained on 6,000+ species, names each bird species from the sound alone (no camera needed) 3. every time it hears one, Gemini 2.5 Flash Image paints that exact bird in the style of an Edo-period japanese woodblock print 4. the new painting drops into a live collage of everything that's been singing outside in the last 24 hours 5. and it all shows up on a framed e-ink display on his wall that reads "heard today" like a little museum placard for his neighborhood knowing which birds visit you used to take a field guide, a trained ear, plus years of patient practice. teddy just glances at the frame on his wall and sees the cardinal came back this morning honestly i'm highly tempted to build one myself haha

Hermes Agent has a new Blank Slate setup mode. The default Quick/Full setup modes work great for most, but if you would rather build your agent from the ground up you can now start with just a provider, model, file operations, and terminal, then manually add in anything else.
