I’m definitely more wary in some areas of Glasgow. City centre at night & wouldn’t risk places like the Kelvin Walkway in the day on my own. I avoid places like Queens Park early morning too. I’ve always been sensible & hate having my freedom curtailed & I try to remember to take an alarm out with me. Recently a foreign guy with bad English tried chatting to me while I waited for a bus late at night & I just ended up walking off to another bus stop as it didn’t feel right (trust your instincts ladies!). Friends with daughters have reported problems where the daughters coming home at night have been followed by men, which have prompted them sensibly to call their mum. The increase in rapes reported in the MSM is worrying & we all need to take heed. I was told by someone who works in the police that the figure for rapes / SA in Glasgow is much higher than the reported figures with a high percentage of perpetrators undocumented immigrants. I don’t go out loads at night & I feel less safe in Glasgow these past couple of years. I think the night patrols are a very good thing @MyDugAlbie - I’d be very interested in tagging along one night.
