A developing child, especially one that’s 22-24 weeks along is not comparable to “brain death.” Not to mention the concept of fucking brain death is highly disputed, and is mostly a reason for the medical industry to use to steal your organs when you’re comatose. Morons

The Texas Medical Board has now supplied the part of this story ProPublica conspicuously could not: an official finding about what actually went wrong. It found that Dr. Andrew Davis failed to properly assess Porsha Ngumezi’s blood loss and failed to take her immediately for the D&C that her condition required. The Board concluded, “This delay in care led to the patient’s death.” That is malpractice. Where, exactly, is the finding that Texas law prevented him from performing the D&C? ProPublica’s original article never establishes that. It establishes that other Texas doctors say abortion laws have created fear surrounding D&Cs, then uses that general observation to insinuate a cause for Davis’s particular decision. But Davis himself apparently never told ProPublica that he withheld the procedure because he thought it was illegal. The hospital never told ProPublica that. The medical records quoted in the article don’t say that. In fact, according to Porsha’s husband, Davis told them that if misoprostol didn’t work, they would proceed to the D&C. That is a rather bizarre thing to say if the reason you are withholding the D&C is that you believe you legally cannot perform one. And look at ProPublica’s own reporting. Porsha was hemorrhaging, had already passed out, required two transfusions, had a clotting disorder, and was passing grapefruit-sized clots. More than a dozen physicians told ProPublica that she needed an emergency D&C. Davis nevertheless recommended misoprostol and described it as the hospital’s “routine,” according to her husband. Now the state medical regulator has investigated that decision and disciplined him for failing to provide the D&C promptly. It did not conclude, “The law prevented this doctor from providing appropriate care.” It concluded that his failure to provide appropriate care was substandard and that the delay led to her death. ProPublica can certainly investigate whether abortion laws indirectly alter physician behavior. That's a legitimate question. But “abortion restrictions may create hesitation around D&Cs” and “this woman died because Texas prohibited her doctor from giving her the treatment she needed” are not remotely the same claim. If you want to establish the latter, show the causal link. Show Davis saying he delayed because of the law. Show the hospital refusing authorization because of the law. Show counsel telling him the D&C was legally prohibited. Show somebody involved in the actual decision saying that the abortion ban caused it. Otherwise, what you have actually documented is a woman hemorrhaging in a hospital while her physician failed to perform the treatment that numerous experts say was obviously indicated, followed by the Texas Medical Board disciplining that physician for precisely that failure. Calling that “a death under Texas’ abortion ban” is chronologically true. I was 12 when I got pregnant. My son’s father is my step-brother. When I found out I was for sure pregnant, I told my baby’s father and he was like in total shock. You know, he was 13 and I was 12. We were still kids ourselves. He wanted an abortion. I was like no way. I told my parents, who are My mother and his Father… They are married so of course they weren’t too happy about their children having sex, let alone having a child together. My mom is totally against abortion, and so am I. My stepdad was all for it and told me that’s what I needed to do. I still was like no way. When I was 3 months pregnant, my mom asked me again what I am going to do. I told her I didn’t have a clue at that point. I knew I loved this baby already. So, I got an ultrasound. After seeing that baby and hearing his heartbeat, I was like I am in love. There’s no way I could have taken on the responsibility of this little baby. I didn’t even want to know the sex because I would get more attached than I already was. I didn’t think I could have a baby with a boy who was supposed to be my brother. So, I sat down and talked to my mom about it a couple of weeks later. We decided adoption would be a good choice for my baby to have the best life possible. My baby’s father wanted no part in anything that involved this child. So, I was on my own. It was difficult considering we live in the same house. I told my mom I would do adoption but only if it was an open adoption. So, I had this girl and her husband who were very close to our family and they agreed to take this baby for me. So, I went in again to the doctor’s. I found out the sex. It was a little boy. On December 23rd, two months after I turned 13, I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Jimmi. He was perfect. I love him with my whole heart, I always have and always will. I am now 16 years old and he is now 2 years old, almost 3. They may have him and he may call them “Mom” and “Dad” But he will always be MY little boy. I still see him often and I get pictures just about every day. Adoption can be a good thing and Abortion should never be the answer. The best part about this whole thing is knowing I gave life. You don't get to decide which human beings bear the image of God.  The planned baby does.  The unplanned baby does.  The disabled baby does.  The baby conceived in heartbreaking circumstances does.  Every single one.

It is important to note that there is NEVER a reason to abort a big, near term baby. That baby can be delivered live, which is much better for the mother physically. Even and especially when the mother is ill, as in pre eclampsia. A C-section takes only a few minutes, while an abortion takes hours/days. It also avoids killing a live child, which is an act that poisons everyone involved, as well as the medical profession. Why would someone kill a live child instead of delivering her? Because they want the child dead. Why would someone want their child dead? They would rather have the child be dead than adopted by a loving couple. Yes, this happens. Many mothers choose death over adoption. And they didn't get around to the abortion in the first or second trimester. Or because the baby is disabled or defective. I have seen babies aborted over a cleft lip or palate. Pro aborts say that mothers don't abort their healthy big babies. I wish this were true. I also wish that "unhealthy" babies weren't automatically assumed to be candidates for "mercy" killing. Killing is an act that degrades everyone involved, and degrades our society. It spreads from unborn defective babies to born ones, and then of course to children and adults, in a euthanasia society. You create a duty to die for the disabled/burdensome. When the man on the street thinks about late term abortion, they imagine a situation in which a very disabled child, already slated for an early natural death is quietly and easily done away with while in the uterus, and that this is better for the baby and for the mother. Nothing about this is easy or quiet. Later term abortion is a brutal, savage procedure. It's a killing. And it's done from a profound lack of love and respect for the most vulnerable. Let the children be born. Some will go home to their Father in heaven sooner than we would hope, but naturally, and without being painfully executed.

I’ve had an abortion. I was 21 years old completely on my own. And by completely on my own, I mean, I didn’t even have a family home to go to on holidays or weekends. nobody was there to help me financially in anyway. I was working at a coffee shop and we were one of the oops the condom broke couples. This was in 1999. There was no Plan B. My then boyfriend pressured me into it. He made it clear that if I chose to keep the child he would only do the court ordered minimum and would have no part in the child’s life. Again this was 1999 and there weren’t good benefits, medical plans or even easily accessible welfare for women in my condition in the state I was living in. I also had horrible morning sickness from probably four weeks on which of course made keeping even my low stakes coffee job hard. So I went through with it. And almost 30 years later I still regret it and think of that child. If someone goes through with an abortion and tells you it’s no big deal? They’re either lying or evil. So now I speak out as part of repenting for murdering my first child. I am the mother of three children. One of whom I intentionally killed.
