A nivel atmosférico los vientos del oeste han sido intensos y predominantes, impulsando el calentamiento del Pacífico. Similar situación con 1997. 3). La convección durante abril se asemeja más a la de 1997 y para los próximos meses esto sería más evidente. 4). En abril de 1997 las precipitaciones en Chile central fueron escasas, pero en mayo la situación cambió drásticamente con fuertes eventos, que luego desencadenaron los intensos y devastadores temporales de junio y agosto. Este año diversas señales indican un escenario similar. Por lo tanto la población en general debe estar atenta y preparada.
