@shephard_dev @vxunderground @Avast It's like affiliate marketing type stuff I bet, but instead of clicks per user, they're probably paid out by the number of installs of the 3rd party software that's bundled.

@shephard_dev @vxunderground @Avast Yes, this is an accurate observation for sure, and I bet they count on it. They likely receive revenue from promoting other software in their installers, & with some many AVs having a free version, it makes sense as a way to generate revenue for something that's free to the user.
