Life without a Second Chance @SecondLifeLost

I've paid my "debt" to society for crimes of another. A debt I didn't owe and didn't make. When will I be reimbursed? If I'm lucky it will be in 30 to 40 years. In return will be a pittance compared to a life of torment. What's the market value of a person's mind and life?

Why is it that I've paid my debt to society for a crime I've not done. Yet, I'm still unable to be allowed to have a second chance. Why in the US are those punished by law sentenced to a lifetime with out a future?

Steps for a second chancer to start a new life. Find a job opening. Over qualify for the position. Apply for job. First round interview. Second round interview. Wait for the offer. Background check is ran. Background check fails you. Repeat. @NickJFreitas

Why are people wrongfully convicted. Beacuse its politically inconvenient, thier institutionally abandoned, or scapegoated by the system. Were the system fails and people are hurt by it.

10,957 days till the earliest likly chance I get to see Justice in this life. How come we accept so out of hand the snail pace for overturning a wrongfully conviction. So many wait 20, 30, 40 years and never see it

Convictional punishment is more akin today to a sampling of the buffet. A little parole, a smidgen of mandatory class, this fine, that fee, all under a heap of uncaring about the punishee. Justice is not a taste test. It's a fine delicate balance that requires individual action.

Justice should be blind not ignorant.

Why is heroism gatekept, reserved only for those society deems worthy? Why not the everyday citizen? If you act with courage and kindness; why should you be excluded from being called a hero?
