This ‘nut job’ has given up flying, driving, meat, dairy, buying new clothes (unless absolutely 100% essential), using a tumble dryer, single use plastics, and holding an account with a bank that has ties to fossil fuel groups. @jercuinn @StopCambo I walked there. Some cycled, some got the bus. There may have been some who drove, I don’t know. We live in an imperfect system (e.g. lack of accessible/reliable public transport) and not everyone is able to walk/cycle. Our focus is on systemic change, not individual blame/shame

@eric_hawkins9 @StopCambo My concern is not for any individual ‘s personal (or corporate or governmental) profit, but the survival of the planet and future generations. People over profit, always. When the last tree has burned and the last fish died, we will realise we can’t eat money.

Do any other #ActuallyAutistic folk seem to forget to breathe (enough), especially when sitting/not moving, and then their body does a sudden and large gasp-y intake of breath? It always freaks out the people I’m with when it happens, but I can’t control it #AskingAutistics

This is the most validating thing I’ve read in a long while. People really struggle to understand how I can have a full time NHS job and still struggle with some ‘basic’ things.

@audiepixie @ItsEmilyKaty This is exactly my experience too. My difficulties/differences were always put down to to having a (physically) disabled brother, and my own autism was missed for years. Hugs (or whatever form of solidarity and recognition you are comfortable with) to you

@imperfectlyjena That’s amazing that you’ve been able to set those boundaries! There have been some comments about seeming ‘more autistic’ since my diagnosis (with implication of putting it on), so I need to work out boundaries there. So much less alone! Thank you. I love the autistic community💙

Any #ActuallyAutistic folk got advice for transitions? Every time I spend a week+ at my parents’ house and then have to go back to where I live (am happy in both places), I have 2/3 days each side feeling deeply unsettled, wobbly, and melt-down-y. It sucks. #AskingAutistics
