I’ve never really understood why so many people like burning scented candles at home. Artificial fragrances can irritate the respiratory system and the skin, especially for people who are sensitive. On top of that, candles consume oxygen and release smoke, particles, and other combustion byproducts. Many American homes rely on central AC, with windows and doors closed most of the time, so indoor air circulation isn’t always great to begin with. And beyond air quality, it’s still an open flame, which comes with safety risks. To me, the most comfortable home scent isn’t a strong fragrance. It’s no odor, clean air, and a naturally fresh feeling.
