@sUprhvn_val definitely not at all~ especially if you really like the artist. sometimes you have to keep the vibe of the group up if they dont know the artist much and it can be sad. you get to fully immerse in it yourself if you go alone and also a chance to meet new like minded ppl :)

You can feel it right? That feeling when the main character is standing alone on stage, only to discover his friends were always there with him? This feeling, this core truth, is a message over a year in the making… It all starts in April of the year before (2022). This is when we sit down to align ourselves with the major emotional overtones of the following year. Carving out the journey from start to finish of what the season would look like, and by the time we get to September, we usually have a grasp on the shape of things. Where we had landed for Champions 2023, was an understanding that there was a core truth within esports, and gaming, and VALORANT that kept coming up over and over and over. And everyone we spoke with had their own interpretation of this core truth, their own relationship to this core truth. This phrase, “One More”. For myself, memories of One More game of tag as the sun set and the fireflies would start to rise up out of the cornfields and hills of small town Pennsylvania, would flicker with the warmest of intentions. Of the rare evenings when we would have ice cream for dinner, and One More scoop was always answered with a begrudged yes. And of endless nights spent in the damp humidity of our basement picking up the controller for another round on voice comms until the sun came up and sneaking to bed as if I didn’t just drink a 2-liter bottle of caffeinated soda just because. For others, while I can’t speak to the memories of their youth, phrases and moments of “Can’t end on a loss,” coming back from the clutches of near defeat, and the bonds formed through gaming were a near universal feeling. Maybe that rings true for you, maybe it’s something different. But it’s this core truth that became the backbone of what Champions 2023 would be about, and what I ultimately needed to translate into a story. A story for VALORANT of VALORANT of playing VALORANT and living it… Of that shared dream of esports. Of that shared experience of life. Of the bonds forged in our youth that evolve through the years into new ideas and diverging paths, but can always be recalled through that flickering warmth in our minds. That warmth that we remember and pull on for support, and guidance, and companionship in even the most challenging times. That my friends, is what this year’s music video is about, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to share that feeling with you. To share in something that to me is the definition of the dream of esports. The kernel of the path of where we can go in life, and the success and pain that comes with it. Because maybe “One More” is all we need to stand on stage one day… with the deafening silence of nerves firing on all cylinders, and the roar of a crowd with a few special voices in it that will always and forever stand out no matter where or when you are.
